First Time at Francisca? Here’s What You Need to Try

Top-down view of a table filled with assorted Latin dishes like grilled meats, fried fish, rice, beans, plantains, and sides, while two people hold smartphones to photograph the food, surrounded by iced drinks and napkins labeled “Francisca.”

Walking into Francisca Restaurant for the first time feels like stepping into the home of someone who cooks with love. The aroma of charcoal, the flavors that spark childhood memories, and the generous portions create an experience that’s hard to forget. If you’re reading this with the menu in hand and don’t know where to start—don’t worry. We’ve got you.

Because yes, everything at Francisca is made to be savored. But there are some flavors that, once you taste them, will have you coming back again and again.

Start with what made us famous: the charcoal-roasted chicken

This isn’t just any chicken—it’s the soul of our kitchen. Raised with no hormones, no antibiotics, and a vegetarian diet, then slowly cooked over charcoal in a Josper oven, our chicken is juicy, golden, flavorful… and addictive.

You can order it in different portions, but if you want a sure bet, go for the 1/4 charcoal-roasted chicken with two sides. Coming with a friend? Share the whole chicken and add hallacas, mini arepas, or fried yuca to the table.

The sides? Absolutely worth it.

At Francisca, sides aren’t just an afterthought—they’re part of the main event. These are the customer favorites:

• Mini hallacas (Hallaquitas): soft, wrapped in plantain leaves, and made with love.
• Fried yuca: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Perfect for dipping.
• Coleslaw salad: sweet cabbage with a tangy touch to refresh your bite.
• White rice with black beans: because some meals just need rice.

An overhead view of assorted side dishes, including tostones, fried sweet plantains with cheese, yuca with green sauce, a fresh garden salad, creamy coleslaw, and wrapped corn tamales, all arranged on a wooden table.

There’s no wrong combination—only cravings that keep coming back.

To drink: tropical flavors that hit the spot

At Francisca, you don’t just eat well—you drink well too. And if it’s your first time, we recommend starting with our freshly made, all-natural juices. No additives, just flavor.

• Papelón con limón: refreshing, citrusy, and sweet in that Latin way.
• Coconut lemonade: creamy, balanced, and perfect for the Miami heat.

And for dessert—because that’s not optional

No meal is complete without something sweet. And if you’re only getting one dessert, make it “Las Tres Leches de su hermana Flor.”
This recipe comes straight from the heart of Francisca’s story: a moist, creamy, honest cake that makes people say “wow.”
More into chocolate? The Nutella Marquesa is another house favorite that never disappoints.

If you came alone, welcome. If you brought someone, even better.
Either way, you’ll want to come back.
